Streaming Video

IOL plans to launch a new video streaming feature during  April 2009 for those who wish to view video and audio presentations by Dr. Chambers and other IOL team members.

Frank Griffin of the IOL Technology Solutions says the new feature will have streaming video, pod casts, MP3 and other features that have been requested by IOL clients.

Building Global Leaders In Brazil

Dr. Chambers will be teaching in Curitiba, Brazil May 11-14, 2009 at Spei University.  The course will be LS602 Global Dimensions of Leadership and is part of a new graduate program partnership between Beulah Heights University (BHU) of Atlanta and SPEI in Curitiba, Brazil.  He will also be accompanied by Dr. Doug Chatham, Director of Graduate Studies at BHU.

The course, Dimensions of Global Leadership, will offer a research-based look at leadership in a global society, and introduce learners to historical principles related to both change and leadership, and provides a context for them to integrate their new and existing understanding of these dynamics into the practice of leadership within their own organizations.

Specific attention is given to the transition from theory to practice, with a specific focus on the practical application of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and habits as it relates to personal leadership development and organizational change management. During this course, learner’s will review and analyze leadership and change management principles from both a historical and modern perspective. The will also be exposed to a formal change management model developed by John Kotter, humanized planned change model development by Dr. Chambers and his collogues at the Institute for Organizational Leadership, and variety of other organizational change resources. Learners will have an opportunity to apply course content to the organization of their choice as part of case study and learning team activities.

Leading with Vision, Passion, & Resilience

6_man14.jpgCOMMON will host a two-day Leadership Summit April 24-25, 2009 in Reno, NV for a select group of IT professionals from the IBM Power Systems community.

This exclusive, invitation-only event will offer a unique opportunity for professional leadership development for those selected to attend. Sponsored by COMMON’s Leadership and Advocacy Program Team, the goal is to recognize 10 leaders from COMMON and the IBM Power Systems community in order to provide them with a foundation for further leadership and professional development.

Dr. Jim Chambers of the Institute for Organizational Leadership will be leading the event and the theme for 2009 will be Leading with Vision, Passion and Resilience. Six interactive sessions will take place throughout the two day event and will involve formal presentations, leadership assessments, focus groups, and executive coaching. Lee University Study

The Institute for Organizational Leadership will assist Lee University's Office of Ministerial Relations with a formal research study of 350 pastoral leaders during the first quarter of 2009.
